North Macedonia-High Frequency Generator
A furniture producer in North Macedonia has replaced the aging Italian-brand high frequency generator on its wood bending press with a JYC unit. The press frame, hydraulics and clamps stayed exactly where they were, and the bending line's output improved substantially once the heating source was renewed.
Why a bending press outlives its generator
A bending press is a mechanical asset. The frame, the hydraulic cylinders, the formers and the clamps are built to run for decades, and in most shops they do exactly that.
The generator is a different kind of component. It is the oscillation source that feeds the electrode, and it carries the high-voltage, high-current parts that wear: the oscillator, the capacitors, the cooling circuit, the insulation. As those age, output drifts down and tuning drifts away from where it was set. Nothing fails outright. The operator simply starts adding time.
That is the stage this customer reached. Heat times that had worked for years no longer produced the same bend, so each cycle was stretched to compensate. The press looked tired; in reality one cabinet was holding the whole line back.
What was actually replaced
Only the generator. The existing bending press kept its hydraulics, its formers and its safety guarding, which is the whole point of a generator retrofit: on a press whose mechanical side is still sound, the heating source is the part that gets renewed.
Compatibility is the step that decides whether a retrofit works, and it is assessed before anything is quoted. The variables are the electrode and platen area, the power rating the press was designed around, the control interface for heating time, and the safety interlocks on the press. JYC's technical team reviews those against the existing machine rather than supplying a generator on power rating alone.

What changed on the bending line
Heat goes into the glue, not the workpieces. High frequency heating works on the dielectric material itself, generating heat inside the adhesive. The formers stay comparatively cool, so the press does not need to sit waiting to cool down between cycles.
Heat is uniform through the glue section. Because the heating happens throughout the glue, a thicker workpiece does not need proportionally longer to reach temperature the way contact heating does. That matters on bent components with varying cross-sections.
The cycle is repeatable. Power on means heating, power off means it stops, and the heating time is set on the control. Once the correct time is dialled in for a given workpiece, that setting holds instead of being nudged upward every few months as output fades.
The difference the customer reports is straightforward: the press is doing the work it was bought to do, at the rate it was designed for.

A second European replacement
North Macedonia is not the first European customer to swap an aging European generator for a JYC unit. An Italian woodworking machinery manufacturer made the same move for its own bending machines, choosing JYC for performance and stability comparable to premium European brands at a materially lower cost, with the safety certification the European market requires. Both cases follow the same logic: the generator is a component, and it can be sourced on merit.
Questions buyers ask before retrofitting a generator
Can the generator on an existing press from another brand be replaced? In most cases, yes. The press's specifications need to be reviewed first, which JYC's technical team does before quoting. A retrofit is only recommended when the mechanical side of the press is still in good condition.
How do I know the generator is the problem rather than the press? The usual signal is creeping cycle times: heating time has to be extended to get a bend that used to come out at the old setting, and results vary between cycles even with the same formers and the same timber. Hydraulic pressure and clamp condition should be checked at the same time to rule them out.
What generator power does a bending press need? JYC's technical team will review the parameters of your machines. JYC's generator range runs from 5 kW to 50 kW for bending and gluing duty, with larger radio frequency units up to 150 kW for drying and high-volume work.
Is a JYC generator suitable for a European workshop? JYC generators are built to ISO 9001 and conform to international high-frequency radiation standards, with CE compliance. Shielding, earthing and press interlocks are part of the installation review.
